Jim Dyke & Associates Announces Kevin Madden As Partner and Executive Vice President
Veteran Political Communications Strategist to Lead New Washington, DC Office

Washington, D.C. (March 8, 2010) – Jim Dyke & Associates announced that Kevin Madden, one of the nation’s top political communications strategists, has joined the firm as a partner and Executive Vice President of Public Affairs. Madden will open and direct operations in JDA’s new Washington, DC office.

JDA is a strategic communications firm founded in 2005 with offices in Charleston, SC that works with business and political organizations by building and managing both national and regional public affairs campaigns. Principals include Jim Dyke, founder and President of the firm, and Laura Crawford, a partner and Executive Vice President of Creative Services.

Madden most recently worked with The Glover Park Group as a Managing Director and will continue a strong professional relationship with GPG, working jointly on public affairs projects as part of his portfolio with JDA.

Madden has played a major role in several national campaigns and worked as a top aide in congressional leadership offices.  During the 2008 campaign cycle, he served as National Press Secretary and Senior Communications Strategist for Governor Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign.

Prior to joining Governor Romney’s campaign, Madden served as Press Secretary to House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) and as Communications Director to House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX).  In that capacity, Madden served as the top communications strategist for the House of Representatives leadership office charged with directing legislative action on a wide range of issues including financial services, energy, national security, legal reform, transportation and telecommunications policy among others.

Before his work in the House leadership on Capitol Hill, Madden served as national spokesman for the Department of Justice on issues ranging from national security to litigation before the federal courts.

During the 2004 presidential campaign, Madden was a member of the communications team directing President George W. Bush’s re-election effort, serving as the President’s campaign spokesman for regional, national and international news organizations.

“We are thrilled that Kevin is taking this exciting opportunity to launch and lead a new JDA office and play a major role in building and managing our Washington office,” said Jim Dyke, President of JDA.  “Kevin’s leadership abilities and his reputation as a top strategist fit perfectly with our business model, offering organizations the experience, knowledge and creativity required to build, execute and then win public affairs campaigns.”
